Day 4
Centralia, WA to Astoria, OR
Daily Miles - 113.4
Cumulative Miles - 365.4
Average Speed - 9.9 MPH
Max Speed - 33.5 MPH
Ride Time - 11 Hours 24 Minutes
The ride ended in Astoria, Oregon. As I arrived, I knew I was near the Pacific Ocean. There were a bunch of fishing boats and seals making a loud raucous. I think they were looking for some food.
Tomorrow will hopefully be a much better ride day with a shorter distance. A much needed shorter day. Thanks for reading.

Today was a really rough day. I should have never planned three back to back 100+ mile days. This one took its toll. I made it though to my planned destination in Astoria, Oregon.
The day started off cold. It was in the low 40s. Not a problem if you have cold weather gear with you, which I didn't. Oh well.
About mile 15, I was cruising down a residential street and out came a dog. It chased me and actually got a hold of my side bag. I put my bike into fast gear and thankfully was on a big downhill. I was only able to get away from the dog due to the hill. It chased me for about a quarter mile. Fun stuff.
Very cool river that I followed for much of the afternoon. It was the Cowlitz River that eventually runs into the Columbia River
My route followed the Lewis and Clark trail. I can appreciate what they did way back then. I was on a bicycle and a nicely paved road. They were blazing a brand new trail.
Toward the last quarter of my day's ride, I rode another ferry in order to cross the Columbia River.

Whew...all in a day's ride! Take good care of yourself, and most importantly, don't forget your spiritual food! God has angels watching over you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOkImV2cJDg
